Voters decisions are a mixed bag on township assessors and new construction

Voters decided to eliminate 30 township assessors and keep 13.  All of the townships in the Marion County area were eliminated while voters in many of the northern counties voted to keep them.

In somewhat of a surprise to me, voters approved $545 million in new public construction projects.  The only failed referendum was in Monroe Countywhere voters rejected a $35 million dollar project for the Richland Bean Blossom School Corporation.  To view a full list of townships and projects, read the AIC's news release on the issue click here.  And once again, congratulations to the county clerks for rising to the challenge and administering the elections.  The clerks and county government were there when needed.
