State Needs More Transparency and Accountability for Local Tax Collections

This edition of AIC Update features Andrew Berger, AIC Government Affairs Director, who discusses the impact to counties with regard to the mistake with LOIT distributions announced earlier this month by the Department of Revenue. Berger also talks about the AIC's proposal to the state for increasing accountability with this process.

Correction to podcast: At about five minutes into the podcast when Andrew is talking about the delay between LOIT collections and distributions, he intended to say two years instead of two months.

NACo Prescription Discount Card Program now offering greater benefits

The Association of Indiana Counties (AIC) is very excited to be part of the new NACo Prescription Discount Drug Card offering. This new program provides the county with an option to retain $1.00 for the county general fund every time the NACo Prescription Discount Drug Card is used in your county to help citizens receive discounts on their prescription drugs. The company that provides the NACo card, CVS Caremark, will distribute the program administration fee to the county on a quarterly basis.
